The fun of making stuff…

So recently I’ve been finding creating to feel more like a chore than fun – this happens to the best of us from time to time and normally for me, it’s due to a lack of variety in my creative outlets. You can only design so many stickers or D&D printouts before it feels like you’re doing the same thing over and over.

For the reason the last few days I’ve been toying with game making!

Paid Promotion on Etsy

As anyone who follows my work is well aware I make 90% of my sales through Etsy. Conventions are awesome but come only a few times a year, and TeePublic is handy but $16 out of ever $20 spent I never see. So yeah, Etsy is important for me.

With the recent launch of the Digital Items for Dungeons and Dragons, I’ve seen some good sales results and decided to reinvest the money right back into Etsy on their product promotion system. It’s strange, you bid for clicks, and set aside a money pot each day for how many clicks you’re willing to buy. I’ve been running it for less than 24 hour but so far things are slow.

I plan to run it for a week under the stance that if it makes back the $7 it costs me to run it, I’ll run it another week, and keep going like that. Hopefully, this will get my product out there for more to see and if it’s a total failure it’s at least an interesting learning experience!

So, for now, I wait…and keep hitting Refresh on my sales stat page…

Blade Runner 2049

When I first heard they were doing a new Blade Runner I rolled my eyes. When I heard Harrison Ford was in it I audibly groaned with ‘not again’. Cinema in recent years has gotten scared of doing new things, instead, it seems to have obsessed with dragging past their prime actors back into roles they should have left alone resulting in a character being cheapened. I don’t think I was foolish to assume this would be the fate of Blade Runner 2049. A quick cash grab where they would flash around an old name to bring in the cult of followers the original had and hope to bring in some new viewers off the back of some flashy trailers and a promise of an action-packed Fast and Furious in Sci-Fi Future Land.

I was wrong.

I Am Alive!

Good evening darling people of the internet!

This is a quick update just to confirm that I am indeed still alive and kicking. Currently I’m packing up my stuff ready to move house over the weekend so this has been consuming my time – I also get FAR too stressed out by moving meaning my creative bit of my brain has been on loan to the bit of my brain that comes up with scary worst case scenarios making doubly sure I’m worried about anything and everything going wrong!

There is some big news in the works, and I mean BIG. Problem is that like with most big news, it’s stuff I can’t talk about till it’s pretty much in front of you for you to see.

Let’s see, any smaller news I can pop up on here to keep your lovely faces happy? Oh I’m hoping to be at Mini-Con Cardiff next month (May 13th)! If I look depressed at the event it’ll be because I’ll have just turned 30 a few days earlier and am feeling my age creep up on me.

I’ve also been working on a better recording and streaming setup meaning once I’m moved and I’ve confirmed the internet there is strong enough to do so, I hope to be streaming a lot more and I plan to upload at least 1 video per day to my YouTube channel.

Anyway, I’ve babbled enough! I’m gonna get back to packing my place up!

Hugs and Kisses!
